Experiential Education

At Kingston, we ensure that students have the opportunity to immerse themselves in experiential learning opportunities both within Hong Kong and beyond. While planning our Units of Inquiry, teachers find ways to bring students in to the community to question and explore through direct observations.

Overnight Camping Trip

During Year 5, students take part in a 3 day, 2 night outdoor education camp which promotes team building and collaboration amongst students. In partnership with outdoor education facilitators in Hong Kong, we ensure that our trips are led by highly qualified staff, which provide a high quality program for the students.

Overseas Trip

For more than a decade now, our Year 6 students have taken part in 5-day, 4-night overseas trips to a variety of destinations, including Xian, Thailand, Singapore, Brunei and Beijing. Each year, this trip is embedded into the Y6 Units of Inquiry and is planned in order to enhance the experiential learning that can surround the central ideas. These trips provide the added benefit of offering students opportunities to act independently and take responsibility for themselves while away from the comforts of home.
